هذا الكتاب مبحث في "السيميائيات الأدبيّة"، مع التركيز على التاريخية والإبستمولوجية، الخلفية النظرية والمنهاجية، الجهاز المفهومي، وعلى المتن موضوع الدراسة.
يستلهم هذا البحث أعمال كريماص حول السيميائيات السرديّة - الخطابية، والمباحث البنيوية التي اهتمّت بحقل الفولكلور والحكاية الشعبيّة والأدب الشفاهي بعامة.
وفي سياق إشارتنا إلى إنحياز فئة من الباحثين المغاربة للمناهج المعاصرة في الدراسة والبحث، كان علينا أن نسجّل الدور المتميّز الذي لعبه الشكلانيون الروس في إغناء نظرية الأدب وأدوات تحليل نصوصه.
وقد ارتأينا أن نولي العناية لمفهوم محوري حول التمفصُل بين النص والمرجع، البنية والتاريخ، المؤلف والمجتمع... إلخ، وهو مفهوم: الرؤية للعالم، وبوضعه النسقي داخل المسلّمات النظرية التي افترضها لوسيان غولدمان.
وقد أفردنا القسم الثاني من الكتاب لإستقراء نصوص أدبية تجمع بين الترجمة الذاتية والمرحلة، فتناولنا النص السردي الروائي لسلوى النعيمي "برهان العسل"، وديوان الشاعرة وفاء العمراني "الأنخاب"، وديوان "المتعبون" للشاعرة ثريا ماجدولين، وختمنا ببيان بلاغة الخطاب "في التعريف بإبن خلدون ورحلته غرباً وشرقاً".
