"تسترق شبح الابتسامات، عن وجوه الأطفال والعشاق، فتحولها إلى ضحكات من القلب مدوية، تعلقها كمصباح ينير دروب أصحابها، تلحظ ومضات الأمل في عيون الأحبة، فتختطفها وتحولها إلى آمال، غير متناهية، تحترق عندما ترى دموع الألم، تترقرق على الوجنات، فتمدّ يداً حنونة لتمسحها، وأخرى لتحولها إلى نبع طهارة، تغسل به قلوب البشر، وبعد كل هذا تتساءل: أحقاً تلاشى الحلم وانتهى؟!... سؤال... ما استطاعت الأيام، أن تمحوه... ولا استطاعت المطالعات والكتب أن تنسيها ذكرى أحلام، ضاعت هناك... هناك بين مباني الجامعة وبواباتها وعلى أدرج أبنيتها، وبين ممرات صفوفها، وضمن صفحات محاضراتها التي طالما رطبتها دموع... تساقطت من كثرة الحيرة والسؤال، فأرادت أن تجرب عالماً آخر، غير عينيها... علها تجد فيه الجواب، ولكنها خدعت... إذا امتصتها أوراق تلك المحاضرات وغدت سراب".
