كتاب للكبار والصغار، يقدّم مرجعاً للباحثات والباحثين في المجالات الاجتماعيّة والثقافية والنسوية، ويقدّم شهادةً نادرةً على دور المرأة، الذي قد يصل إلى الهيمنة أحياناً، في مجتمع بطريركيّ. كما يشير إلى نقطة تمايز حكاياتنا عن الحكايات الغربيّة في موضوع تجسيد الخير والشرّ: فالغيلان والسحرة والمردة لا تحمل سماتِ نهائية. إذ قد تكون خيّرة أو شرّيرة؛ وهذا يعتمد على الطريقة التي يتعامل بها الإنسانُ معها.
غير أن ميزة الحكاية أنها بابٌ للإمتاح وطريقٌ للمؤانسة، نقرأُها كي نرويها، ونرويها كي نُعيد صوغَها، ونصوغُها كي نحكي. فالكلام هو بدايةُ الخيال وجسرُ التواصل.
