يعدّ تاريخ النضال السياسي للأكراد من أجل الاستقلال والوحدة القومية والديموقراطية من أهم الدراسات المعاصرة لما تتضمنه من نضالات وانتفاضات طامعة في الحرية والوحدة. في هذا الكتاب يحاول المؤلف عرض مسيرة انتفاضة الأكراد في الأعوام 1879-1882، ليكشف النقاب عن الأسباب الاجتماعية والسياسية والاقتصادية لها. كما أنه يتطرق إلى العلاقات الكردية الأرمنية.
وقد دعم الكاتب معلوماته بالعديد من الوثائق والأرقام والأدلة الثابتة علمياً من مصادر مختلفة ودوائر عالمية كانت مهمته آنذاك بمجريات الأمور في كردستان، كما خصص المؤلف فصولاً عديدة حول انتفاضة الأكراد ضد الظلم، والقهر ومحاولاتهم المتكررة للوصول إلى طريق الخلاص الوطني، كما يتطرق إلى تفاصيل وافية عن انتفاضة الشيخ عبيد الله التي كانت حتى صدور هذا الكتاب فصلاً منسياً من فصول تاريخ كفاح الشعب الكردي.
