يتتبع هذا الكتاب عبر ثلاثة أبحاث علمية في التاريخ السياسي والعلاقات الدولية - حقبة تاريخية هامة من التاريخ السياسي العربي الحديث والمعاصر - وقد ركزت هذه الدراسات على التاريخ السياسي والعلاقات الدولية كأحداث سياسية متوافقة أحياناً مع منهج القادة السياسيين وما أرادوه لبلدانهم ومختلفة مع نهج صانعي هذا التاريخ أحياناً أخرى.
وفي رصد الكاتب للأحداث السياسية وتداعياتها ومؤثراتها في العلاقات الدولية ذات الأبعاد الشاملة على المنطقة العربية عالج البحث الأول: "استخدام النفط كسلاح سياسي في الحروب العربية الاسرائيلية" الثلاث التي خاضها العرب في مواجهة اسرائيل. أما البحث الثاني من هذا الكتاب، فعرض "موقف المملكة العربية السعودية" من الغزو العراقي لدولة الكويت ودور خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك فهد بن عبد العزيز آل سعود في إعادة الإستقرار السياسي للخليج العربي والتوازن الإقليمي للقوة المحلية في المنطقة". أما البحث الثالث من الكتاب، فعرّض، لـ "إعلان اتفاقيتي بحره وحدّه وأبعاده السياسية في مبايعة الملك عبد العزيز بالملك في مكة المكرمة (1344 هـ - 1952م)". وفيه عرض الكتاب لسياسة الملك عبد العزيز والأسباب التي انطلق منها نحو ضم الحجاز، ومراحل الصراع.. حتى كان حصار جدّه، وتم التركيز هنا على اتفاقيتي بحره وحدّه، وتم التركيز هنا على اتفاقيتي بحره وحدّه، وأثر هذا الإعلان على الموقف السياسي للشريف علي بن حسين، عندما اضطر الى التسليم خلال شهرين من توقيع تلك الاتفاقيتين.
