في هذا الكتاب رصد للتنظيمات الاقليمية الجديدة في آسيا، لمعرفة أشكال التطور الذي طرأ عليها، وما أنتجته من تجديد لمفهوم الاقليمية، مع تحديد الاثار التي أنتجتها علي دولة واحدة وهي دولة الكويت من خلال تحديد الفرص والمخاطر المترتبة علي بناء تلك التنظيمات بالنسبة لمصالح تلك الدولة. ويتناول الكتاب أيضاً تقسيم التنظيمات الاقليمية الاسيوية الي تنظيمات اقليمية اسيوية تقليدية من زاوية التحديثات التي طرأت عليها، وهي رابطة دول جنوب شرقي آسيا 'الاسيان' ورابطة جنوب آسيا للتعاون الاقليمي 'السارك' ومنظمة التعاون الاقتصادي 'الايكو'، هذا بالإضافة إلي التنظيمات الاقليمية الجديدة وهي مجلس التعاون الاقتصادي لدول آسيا - المحيط الهادي 'الابيك' ورابطة التعاون الاقليمي لدولة المحيط الهندي، ومنظمة بحر قزوين للتعاون، وحوار التعاون الاسيوي، وحوار الآسيوي الشرق أوسطي، كذلك التنظيمات الاقليمية الامنية الآسيوية الجديدة وهي منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون 'سكو'، ومؤتمر اجراءات التفاعل وبناء الثقة في آسيا 'السيكا'، أيضاً مشروع طريق الحرير الجديد كأحد أهم المشروعات القارية في آسيا، وهو مشروع يربط شرقي آسيا بغربها من خلال شبكة من السكك الحديدية والطرق التجارية، وأثر هذا المشروع علي المصالح الكويتية خاصة أن للكويت خططا محددة للارتباط به، ومن خلال هذا التحديد يحاول الكتاب تحديد أثر هذه التنظيمات علي دولة الكويت من حيث الاثر علي الاقتصاد والامن القومي، ومعرفة السياسة الكويتية تجاه تلك التنظيمات، وكيفية تعظيم المصالح الكويتية في تلك التنظيمات.
