يضم الكتاب آيات متفرقة وفتاوى في مسائل من الفقه متعددة من كلام الشيخ الإمام أبي الحسن علي بن الكافي بن علي بن تمام السبكي الشافعي، منقولة من خطه حرفاً حرفاً. وهذه الفتاوى والآيات غير ما خصه الإمام بالتصنيف. وما مع هذه الفتاوى لم يذكر في هذا الكتاب سوى ما وجده في مجاميع الإمام السبكي أو بخطه في جزازات متفرقة أو على فتاوى موجودة في أيدي الناس، وبعضها وجدها بخط الإمام السبكي على ظهور كتبه، فجمع هذا كله في هذا المؤلف مرتباً على الأبواب.
ولم يذكر في هذا الكتاب شيئاً مما خصّه الإمام السبكي بالتصنيف إلا قليلاً من مسائل مهمة صنف فيها تصانيف مبسوطة ومختصرة، فيذكر المختصر من المصنفين وذلك بغية التسهيل. وقد جاء هذا المؤلف ضمن جزءين.
