العسل هبة من عند الله وهديته إلى عباده، فبالإضافة إلى أنه غذاء لذيذ، فهو شفاء لأكثر الأمراض وخاصة الأمراض المستعصية، التي لم يستطع الإنسان - بطبه وعلمه واكتشافاته - أن يجد العلاج الشافي لها، ولأن العسل غذاءٌ ودواء منذ آلاف السنين حاول الكاتب حسن زكي الصواف أن يقدم لنا كتاباً في فوائد العسل ومنافعه، واختار له عنواناً (كل الشفاء في العسل)، قدم له بمقدمة ومما جاء فيها: " ... شرعت في جميع ما قدرت عليه من فوائد العسل الذي هو في متناول أيدينا وإنها غالباً وصفات مجربة أتت ثمارها وظهرت فوائدها على من جربها فمن هذا المنطلق، لا يسعنا، إلا أن نذكّر بالعودة إلى الطب الشعبي ما استطعنا ...".
وفي هذا الإطار يشرح الكتاب "تركيب العسل ومكوناته" وأنواعه "عسل السنط" ، "عسل الخلنج" ، "عسل الكستناء" ، "عسل الأوكاليبتوس" ، "عسل البرتقال" ، "عسل إكليل الجبل" ، وغيره. كما يذكر الكتاب تركيب العسل من "فيتامين ك" و "فيتامين (ج - ح ) ... وضرورتهما للجسم وفوائدهما بالإضافة إلى فيتامينات أخر، وأملاح معدنية متعددة، ثم يأتي على "فوائد منتجات العسل" ، ويُعرف بالعسل المغشوش والغذاء الملكي وفوائده وكيف يستعمل غذاء ملكة النحل؟ وفوائد شمع النحل، وتركيب سم النحل وكيفية العلاج من سم النحلة ... وعن استخدامات العسل في المستحضرات التجميلية يقدم الكتاب (وصفات)، ويختتم بالتعريف بأعشاب أخرى مفيدة وكيفية استخدامها مثل البابونج والبنفسج والزيزفون والزعتر البري والمريميى والمليسا والبيلسان وذئب الخيل والزوفاء والورد البلدي وغيرها.
يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن تركيب العسل، أنواع العسل، فوائد منتجات العسل، معرفة العسل المغشوش، العسل والحياة العصرية، العسل والطب الحديث، العسل لكل مرض.
