مسند أبي عوانة من كتب الحديث المهمة، خرجه الإمام أبو عوانة على "صحيح مسلم"، زاد عليها أحاديث قليلة في أواخر الأبواب، نبه هو على كثير منها، ويوجد منها الصحيح والحسن والضعيف-أيضاً والموقوف. وقد جاء محققاً وجرى العمل فيه كالتالي:
1-تصحيح الأخطاء المطبعية بالنسبة للأجزاء (1،2،3،4،5)، 2-مراجعة الجزء الثالث الذي كان مفقوداً، 3-مقابلة الجزء الجديد الذي لم يكن مطبوعاً من قبل. وقد احتوى هذا الجزء على الكتب التالية: "فضائل القرآن، النكاح، الطلاق، العتق والولاء، البيوع، المواريث، الهبة والعمرى، الوصايا، النذور، الإيمان، المماليك، الحدود والديات"، 4-تخريج طرق الحديث على "صحيح مسلم" وحده، 5-ترقيم الأحاديث والكتب والأبواب والكثير من أسماء الكتب ليست في الأصل، 6-شرح غريب الألفاظ وما يشكل، 7-وضع الفهارس المتنوعة والتي أفرد لها المحقق مجلداً ضمت خاتمة ذكر فيها الفوائد التي ظهرت وكذا معجماً لشيوخه.
