"عقود الكلام" سلسلة كتب في القراءة والتّعبير للحلقَتَيْن الأولى والثّانية من مرحلة التّعليم الأساسيّ، تُحَضِّر لسلسلة "عقود الأيّام" الموضوعة للحلقة الثّالثة من هذا التعليم، وهي تتكامل مع سلسلة "مبادئ اللّغة بالملاحظة والتّطبيق" في وحدة مترابطة.
والكتاب، هذا، هو الجزء السادس من هذه السلسلة، وفي طبعة جديدة متطوّرة، معدّة للصفّ الأساسيّ السّادس، يشتمل على كتاب تلميذ، ودفتر تطبيق ونشاطات، وقرص مدمج يتضمَّن تمرينات تفاعليّة إلكترونيّة، ودليل معلّم، فضلاً عن وسائل مُعينة تتألّف من لوحات جداريّة وأشرطة سمعيّة وأفلام، وذلك في وحدة متكاملة لا تتجزّأ.
ويلتزم هذا الكتاب بالأهداف التَربويّة العامّة المعروضة في مقدّمة المنهج، وبأهداف المرحلة، وبالمحتوى المقرّر وتفاصيله وتعديلاته.

كما يراعي التّطوّر المتنامي في وسائل التّدريس ونشاطاته، وأساليب التّعليم الحديثة، وتقنيّات الإختبار والتّقويم؛ ويعتمد الطّرائق التّربويّة النّاشطة في تنمية مهارات المتعلّم وقدراته بالحوار والنّشاط والتّعاون في أعمال الفرق على حلّ المشكلات، وكلّ ذلك بهدف إنماء شخصيّة التلميذ المتفرّدة وتدريبه على الدّيمقراطيّة في الإتّصال والمشاركة وتفهُّم الآخر.
