أم البنين: المقصودة في هذا الكتاب هي: فاطمة بنت حزام بن خالد بن ربيعة أخي لبيد الشاعر إبن عامر بن ربيعة بن صعصعة الكلابية، هذا ما يُعرف به الكاتب الشيخ أشرف الزهيري الجعفري عن هذه المرأة ذات المنزلة الشريفة، فهي كانت "أم البنين من النساء الفاضلات، العارفات بحق أهل البيت عليهم السلام مخلصة في ولائهم، ممحضة في مودتهم، .. تزوجها أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه وذلك بعد شهادة الصديقة فاطمة الزهراء". ولكن هل كانت هي الزوجة الثانية بعد الزهراء أم أنه تزوج بأمامة بنت العاص إبنة أختها زينت كما ورد في وصيتها؟ الكثير عن حياة وسيرة هذه السيدة الشريفة والفاضلة يسلط الضوء عليها مؤلف الكتاب في سياق إجتماعي – تاريخي عاشه أهل بيت النبوة، كانت له ظروفه الخاصة، ولكن الأهم من ذلك أن المؤلف أراد أن يجعل من هذه السيدة قدوة حسنة ومثالاً يُحتذى للشابات من أبناء هذا الجيل في الخُلُق والسلوك والحياة عامة. يقول المؤلف: "كانت تقوم في بيت الإمام علي رضي الله عنه بما تقوم به المرأة التي تريد لزوجها كامل السعادة، وتريد لأبنائها وأبناء زوجها كل الخير والتقدم ... كانت أول يوم دخلت المنزل وجدت الحسن والحسين مريضين فأخذت تسهر معهما وتقابلهما بالبشاشة ولطيف الكلام وتعاملهما كالأم الحنون. هذا مشهدٌ من مشاهد عديدة عن أخلاق نساء أهل بيت النبوة، تسرّ بقراءتها النفوس، وتنجلي بمعانيها الأحقاد، ببركة هذا الدين الحنيف.
وفي الكتاب أيضاً، كرامات أم البنين، وأدعية ومستحبات، و"أم البنين في لسان الشعر" قصيدة للشيخ محمد علي اليعقوبي عن أم البنين.
