"نظرية النهضة الحسينية" هي دراسة تأخذ نمط البحوث التأسيسية والتأصيلية، رغم أنها تشير عرضياً لبعض الجوانب التطبيقية. ومما تتميز به هذه البحوث، أنها تسعى للخروج من التعميمات الخطابية والأفكار اللامبرهنة والصياغات الأدبية العاطفية نحو حالة علمية محددة، وتدقيق ووضوح وصرامة برهانية، وصياغات عقلية متماسكة.
وهذه الدراسة تسعى لتحقيق الأهداف التالية: 1-معالجة الثغرات المنطقية والفكرية والتاريخية، التي تعاني منها المعالجات والتصورات المطروحة، حول هدف الثورة الحسينية وفلسفيتها. 2-التركيز على النتائج الحقيقية لهذه الثورة. 3-الوقوف على تفاصيل وحقيقة "التوظيف الاجتماعي للثورة" من خلال ربط ذلك بهدف الثورة وفلسفتها. 4-وضع اليد على مشكلة مزمنة تعاني منها الكثير من رؤانا وتصوراتنا العقائدية والاجتماعية والفكرية. وهي غياب التنظير التحليلي المتكامل للأفكار. فالنهضة الحسينية التي شغلت العقل الإسلامي والعالمي لقرون متمادية ما زالت أفكارها والتصورات المرتبطة بها، دون مستوى النظرية. وهذا ما حاول المؤلف الإلفات إليه لتقديم صورة تنظيرية مقترحة تسعى لاستيعاب جميع الشروط المنطقية للنظرية المتكاملة.
