"تماماً أمامك" مجموع قصص قصيرة للكاتب "ساري العتيبي" تتعدد فيها الأصواب على الرغم من وجود صوت الكاتب فشخصيات العمل تحيا داخل النص حياتها الخاصة، أو ذاتيتها بعيداً عن الآخرين، قابعة بين جدران الذاكرة، تتكلم بصوت منخفض تتحدث عن الزمن الذي يكون أحياناً خصماً للإنسان، يظن كل واحد منا أنه يسابق الزمن حتى يدرك أنه غلبه كحال بطل الرواية "... يوم مختلف تماماً، وجد فيه نفسه بشكل مختلف، وفي عنوان مختلف (...) لقد كنت أطويني أنا، كنت أسابقني وحدي مدة ثلاثين سنة، لم يكن هناك من يسابقني صنعت من الوقت خصماً ولم أدرك أن الخصم كان عمري أنا! (...)". وعندئذ يجد الإنسان أن حريته لا تتجاوز قيمة ما يدفع فلعبة الزمن هي لعبة الأرقام هذا ما أراد أن يقوله "العتيبي"، "... نعم سيدي أنت تشغل هذه الطاولة، ولك كامل التصرف بحرية، ولكن حريتك لا تتجاوز قيمة ما تدفع (...) أوه! حريتي إذن بحسب ما أدفع!! –قام من مكانه وتوجه صوب الباب ثم تمتم قائلاً: (إنها لعبة الأرقام).
ما يميز هذا العمل أن قارئه أينما نظر إليه استطاع أن يقتنص ما يروقه، ويسقطه على ما صافح به وعيه، مما يجعله يتجاوز مرحلة القراءة المجردة إلى مرحلة المشاهدة المعاينة، إنها مجموعة حرية بأن تقرأ بعين الروح، ففي كل جزء منها ما يلامس جانباً خفياً في أعماق ذواتنا...
يعودُ الشاب حتى إذا تجاوز شجرةً هناك كانت تفصلُ بيننا في نصف الطريق, وأراد أنْ يعطيها "الورقة" اقتحمتني نظراتُه كالموج ثم انحسرتْ أمواج عينيه الثائرتين نحوها، فهمت الفتاةُ أنه ينبهها إلى وجودي، فالتفتت نحوي وقالت بدون مقدمات: "أغمض عينيك" لا أدري كيف ولكن امتثلتُ الأمر فوراً وأغمضتهما.
