إن حول كتاب الطرائف عدّة المؤلف في كتاب الإجازات من تصانيفه وقال: وممّا صنفته وكشفت به عن الباب وبلغت فيه ما لم أعرف أن أحداً بلغه من أهل تلك الأوقات: كتاب الطرائف في مذاهب الطوائف وهو مجلّدان.
وقال في كشف المحجّة في عدّ مصنّفاته: ومنها كتاب الطرائف في معرفة مذاهب الطوائف جليل المقام وهو من بحار ذلك الأنعام، وقال في موضع آخر منه: فاعلم يا ولدي محمد أن الطريق إلى معرفتهم أسهل ممّا يتوهّمه كثير من الخلائق، وقد كشفت لك الأمور في كتاب الطرلائف فأوضحت عن طرق الحقائق.
وقال في موضع آخر منه: وما أوضح الله جل جلاله على يدي في كتاب الطرائف من النصوص الصحيحة الصريحة على أبيك علي بن أبي طالب عليه السلام وعلى عترته بالإمامة ما لا يخفى على أهل الإستقامة.
وقال في موضع آخر منه: ولقد كشفت في كتاب الطرائف عن معرفة جدّك محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم بما جرت عليه حال أمّته بعد إنتقاله، وقد ذكرت لك في كتاب الطرائف من أقدامهم في حياة جدّك محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم على المعارضة له في فعاله ومقاله - إلخ.
وقد أجاد المؤلّف وخدم الإسلام والمسلمين بتأليف هذا الكتاب وهو كما قال مؤلِّفه قد بلغ فيه ما لم يعرف أن أحداً بلغه من أهل تلك الأوقات.
