لا أعرف من منا سأل الآخر: أهو المطر الذي سألني أم تراني أنا من سألته: لماذا السياب وما علاقة كل منكما بالآخر الأنه كتب أنشودة المطر، أم لأنه سمّى أحد دواوينه (أنشودة المطر)؟
أسئلة أحارني جوابها عاماً كاملاً لا أعرف ماذا أسمي هذا القادم الجديد؟ ولماذا أكتب عن السياب: وقد كتبت عنه ذات يوم مع شعراء العراق أو بعض الشعراء. أهو المطر والشتاء الذي أوحى إليّ بارتعاشته الفضية؟ أم لأن حنيناً الى العراق مذ كتبت ذاكرة عراقية؟ أم لأن السياب لم يدرس جيداً وهو حري بأكثر من دراسة وأكثر من بحث، فسنواته القصار حملت فيه العطاء الكثير، ليغني الادب العربي بشعر ثري يحمل مع حبات المطر أغاني الرعاة وزغاريد البرق والرعد ليسأل عن أمة تارة، وعن جيكور تارة أخرى من دون أن ينسى بويب ذلك النهر الذي خلّده شاعره من خلال شعره الجزل الجميل.
البحث إذن غني وجدير بالوقوف عاماً لقراءته ومعرفة جوانب كثيرة عن حياته. ودائماً نبدأ من التاريخ لكن عند السياب سيكون لجيكور والطفولة شأن كبير. وإذا حاولنا الغوص في أغوار النفس فسنتوقف عند أشياء كثيرة وهامة، لكن سنحاول معاً التوقف عند ملامح أساسية كقطرة أولى ليليها المطر الرذاذ والشؤبوب ومن ثم الوابل المدرار.
