هذا فهرس كتاب "علل الحديث" للإمام أبي محمد عبد الرحمن بن أبي حاتم الرازي وهو كتاب هام بموضوعه ومحتواه، فهو يجمع الأحاديث المعللة ويبين علة كل حديث، هذا وإن معرفة العلل هي من أجل أنواع الحديث. ونظراً لهذه الأهمية التي يحملها الكتاب، فقد عمل الدكتور يوسف المرعشلي على فهرسته لتسهل المراجعة فيه، وقد اعتمد في هذا العمل على الطبعة التي اعتنى بإخراجها محب الدين الخطيب.
وأما عمل الدكتور مرعشلي فقد تضمن ما يلي: 1-فهرساً لأوائل الحديث والآثار، احتوى على أقوال الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم وأفعاله، ووصفه، وتقريراته، والمروايات المرفوعة والمقطوعة والمرسلة، وآثار الصحابة، كل ذلك مرتب على حروف المعجم، مع الإشارة للراوي وتحديد الجزء والصفحة التي جاء فيها الحديث، 2-فهرساً للرواة من الصحابة أو التابعين أو أتباعهم، رتب فيها أسماءهم على حروف المعجم، وجمع تحت اسم كل راوٍ مروياته حسب موضوعاتها في الكتاب.
