هذا كتاب في أعلام المفلوكون ووصاياهم وأشعارهم رتبه المؤلف في ثلاثة عشرة فصل، في الأول حقق معنى المفلوك الذي قصر عليه هذا الكتاب، وفي الثاني بين أن لا حجة للمفلوك في التعلق بالقضاء والقدر وفي الثالث أبرز أن التوكل لا ينافي التعلق بالأسباب، وأن الزهد لا ينافي كون المال في اليدين وفي الرابع بين أن الآفات التي تنشأ من الفلاكة وتستلزمها الفلاكة وتقتضيها، وخصص الخامس للقول بأن الفلاكة والإعمال ألصق بأهل العلم وألزم لهم في غيرهم وبين سبب ذلك، وفي الفصل السادس تحدث عن مصير العلوم باعتبارها كمالات نفسانية وطاعة ليس إلا بعد كونها صناعة من الصنائع وحرفة مت الحرف وبيان السبب في ذلك، وفي الفصل السابع تحدث عن على الفلاكة والإهمال والإملاق على نوع الإنسان وبين السبب في ذلك، وفي الثامن بين أن الفلاكة المالية تستلزم الفلاكة الحالية ، وفي التاسع أن التملق والخضوع وبسط أعذار الناس والمبالغة في الاعتذار إليهم وإظهار حبهم ومناصحتهم من أحسن أحوال المفلوكين وأليق الصفات بهم وأفضى الطريق بهم إلى مقاصدهم وبيان الدليل على ذلك.
وذكر في الفصل العاشر للعلماء الذين تقلبت عنهم دنياهم ولم يحظوا منها بطائل. وأورد في الفصل الحادي عشر مباحث تتعلق بالفصل قبله ومن المباحث النكبات الحاصلة للأعيان. وجعل الفصل الثاني عشر لأشعار المفلوكين أو من في معناهم وما فيها من مقاصد شتى وبيان أن الحامل عليها إنما هو الفلاكة. وأورد في الفصل الثالث عشر وصايا يستضاء بها في ظلمات الفلاكة.
