يتابع الدكتور "عبد الرحمن بدوي" في هذا الملحق ما كان قد بدأه من عمل في موسوعة كان قد أخرجها في عدة أجزاء عنونها "بموسوعة الفلسفة" واستقصى فيها أمرين، الأول يشمل كل ذي شأن في الفلسفة على مدى تاريخها منشئي مذاهب ومؤرخين لها، ومسهمين في تطورها، والثاني يتناول أمهات المذاهب الفلسفية والموضوعات الرئيسية التي تندرج في ميدانها، وقد حرص في كلا الأمرين أن يقدم عرضاً واضحاً مستوفياً لكل جوانب الفيلسوف: حياته ومذهبه ومؤلفاته، أن تعلق القول بالنوع الأول، وللمعاني الرئيسية والتحديد الدقيق والتطور في المفهوم، أن تعلق القول بالنوع الثاني، مزيلاً كل مادة ببيان بالنشرات والمراجع التي تعين الباحث على المزيد من الإطلاع والتوسع والتعمق.
وكما أسلفنا يتابع الدكتور "بدوي" في هذا الجزء الملحق عمله فيتحدث عن الفلاسفة الذين لم يذكرهم في أجزاء الموسوعة فيتوقف عند حياة كل فيلسوف ومذهبه ومؤلفاته، ويذيل كل مادة تناولها بالنشرات والمراجع التي تعين الباحث على استقصاء المزيد من الإطلاع والتوسع والتعمق.
