صلاح عبد الفتاح الخالدي ولد في مدينة جنين في الفاتح من ديسمبر 1947م الموافق 18 محرم 1367هـ وبدأ طلب علم الشرعي بحصوله على بعثة للأزهر سنة 1965م وهناك أخذ الشيخ الثانوية الأزهرية ثم دخل الكلية الشريعة وتخرج منها سنة 1970م ثم درس الشيخ الماجستير سنة 1977م في جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية بالرياض وكانت الرسالة التي قدمها الشيخ بعنوان: سيد قطب والتصوير الفني في القرآن وجاءت في قسمين: القسم الأول صلاح عبد الفتاح الخالدي ولد في مدينة جنين في الفاتح من ديسمبر 1947م الموافق 18 محرم 1367هـ وبدأ طلب علم الشرعي بحصوله على بعثة للأزهر سنة 1965م وهناك أخذ الشيخ الثانوية الأزهرية ثم دخل الكلية الشريعة وتخرج منها سنة 1970م ثم درس الشيخ الماجستير سنة 1977م في جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية بالرياض وكانت الرسالة التي قدمها الشيخ بعنوان: سيد قطب والتصوير الفني في القرآن وجاءت في قسمين: القسم الأول عن حياة سيد قطب والثاني عن التصوير الفني في القرآن. وتمت المناقشة سنة 1980م وتألفت اللجنة من الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد حسن فرحات مشرفاً والأستاذ محمد قطب مناقشاً والشيخ محمد الراوي - العالم المصري المعروف - مناقشاً.
ثم حصل الشيخ على درجة الدكتوراه في التفسير وعلوم القرآن سنة 1984م من الجامعة نفسها وكانت الرسالة بعنوان: في ظلال القرآن – دراسة وتقويم وأشرف عليها أيضاً الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد حسن فرحات وناقشه العالمان المشهوران هما الشيخ مناع القطان رحمه الله والأستاذ الدكتور عدنان زرزور - العالم القرآني المعروف.
من أبرز المشايخ الذين تتلمذ الشيخ على يديهم: - الشيخ موسى السيد رحمه الله – أحد علماء فلسطين - والشيخ محمد الغزالي. الشيخ وسيد - الشيخ عبدالحليم محمود. وقد تأثر الشيخ تأثراً كبيراً بالشيخ المرحوم السيد قطب وكانت صلته بالشيخ صلة محبه وتلمذة أما صلة شخصية فلم يكن بين الشيخ صلاح وبين الأستاذ سيد قطب صلة شخصية إنما تتلمذ الشيخ على كتبه بقرائتها كلها.
