جاء هذا الكتاب في جزئين: الجزء الأول (قضايا تنظيرية) ويضم: المناهج الرئيسية في الترجمة، ونقد الترجمة وتقييمها، ودقة الترجمة، ومقبوليتها، ونقل أسلوب النص الأصلي، وقرارات المترجم، واللغة وإتساقها، وطريقة عرض النص (الترجمة والتدقيق).
والجزء الثاني (قضايا تطبيقية) ويبحث في البعد الأيديولوجي (التصرف بالنص تصرفاً أيديولوجياً) والفرق بينه وبين (تطويع النص)، والجانب النصي (أدوات الربط) وأشياء أخرى، والجانب الأسلوبي (المعنى) و(التركيب) وتقييم الترجمة والتعقيب عليها، والبعد الثقافي في (ثقافة اللغة المصدر) و(اللغة الهدف)، ونوع النص وأشياء أخرى.
