وقد جاءت إختصاصات النيابة العامة واضحة وقاطعة بحيث لا تقبل التأويل، وذلك على خلاف القانون الملغى التي كانت نصوصه في هذا الصدد غامضة، الأمر الذي أدى إلى صدور أحكام قضائية متناقضة في تفسير إختصاصات النيابة وسلطاتها في التحري والإشراف عليه.
وفي هذا الكتاب شرح لقانون الإجراءات الجنائية الصادر سنة 1991 في الخرطوم ولتعديلاته.
