إن الأخبار بالغيب ظاهرة قرآنية واضحة تؤكد صلته بالسماء، وقد جاء الإخبار بالغيب في مواضع كثيرة؛ ونظراً لكثرة الأخبار بالغيب وشدة كشفه عن النسب السماوي فقد عده أصحاب علم الكلام والمفسرون من جهات الإعجاز القرآني، بل أن فيهم من يرى الإعجاز منحصراً بذلك كما حكى عن النظام وأتباعه.
ولأهمية هذا الموضوع جاء هذا البحث الموجز لأمرين: الأول: توضيح هذا الجانب الإعجازي للقرآن الكريم... وعرض الآيات الدالة عليه ومقارنتها ببعضها، الثاني: إعطاء نظرة واضحة عن أخبار القرآن الكريم بما سيحدث أو ما حدث وتوضيح معالم ذلك.
وقد اعتمد المؤلف في إستنتاجاته على ما ثبتت حجيته بالقطع كالظهورات المستندة إلى اللغة وغيره من العلوم الأدبية، وإستناداً إلى القرائن التي تكتنف الآية المبحوث عنها أو التي توجد في آية أخرى وتلقي ضوءاً على الآية السابقة.
