نسبه
هو الشيخ محمد حسن بن الشيخ محمد رضا بن الشيخ عبد الحسين بن الشيخ باقر بن الشيخ محمد حسن آل ياسين الخزرجي الكاظمي.
ولادته ونشأته
ولد في مدينة النجف الاشرف عام 1931، وكان والده آية الله الشيخ محمد رضا آل ياسين المتوفى سنة 1370هـ -1951م، أكبر مرجع في زمانه ترجع إليه الشيعة الإمامية في مختلف البلاد الإسلامية.

يضم هذا المعجم كل أسماء النبات، وتحلية كل نبت بما ذكر، وبيان ما يتعلق بكل نوع من أنواعه أو فصيلة من فصائله، بل ما يتعلق بواحده أيضاً، من أسماء أغصانه وورقه، أصله وفرعه، ورده وثمره، فجه وناضجه، رطبه ويابسه، غضه وقديمه، وسائر ما يتصل بذلك ويمت إليه.
كما يضم كل ما يتعلق بالزراعة والفلاحة من آلات وأدوات، ووسائل ومهمات وأمراض وآفات، وسائر ما يرتبط بها ويخص شؤونها، بدءاً بإصلاح الأرض وسقيها وبذرها، وانتهاءً بالحصاد والدوس والتنقية وأماكن الحفظ والادخار.
الألفاظ الواردة في هذا المعجم إنما هي الألفاظ التي وردت في المعجمات العربية وكتب النبات اللغوية الرئيسة التي ألفها علماء اللغة كما مر بيانه. أما الألفاظ التي ذكرها العلماء النباتيون العرب في كتبهم المعنية بالفلاحة وبالحشايش والأدوية المفردة ولم تذكرها المعجمات فأفرد لها ملحقاً أو جزءاً خاصاً بها في آخر هذا المعجم.
