لقد قصد المؤلف في هذا الكتاب الذي أسماه بــ"قانون الأحوال الشخصيّة على ضوء الفقه الجعفري، هو التيسير والإختصار قدر الإمكان مع تحري الفروع الفقهيّة التي أغفلها المصنفون الآخرون فيما دونوه تحت هذا الإسم أو ما يقرب منه.
وقد دوّن موادّه في أربعة أجزاء بالنحو التالي: المجلد الأوّل: في الزواج وما يرتبط به من مواد فقهية، ويحتوي على ألف وخمسمائة وست مواد شرعيّة في عشرين فصلاً، المجلد الثاني: في الفراق والإنفصال وأنواعه من طلاق وغيره، وما يترتّب عليها من مواد وأحكام ومسائل وفروع، المجلّد الثالث: في الهبة والوقف والوصيّة والثلث وتصرفات المريض والميراث والحبوة والفروض والسهام الشرعيّة، المجلّد الرابع: فيما يختص بالقاضي الشرعي من مهام ووظائف في قضائه وحكمه وفصله، وما يلحق بذلك من مباحث الإقرار والصلح وأصول الإثبات والحجر وحدود ولاية القاضي الشرعيّة على القصر والمحجور عليهم والمفقود وما يدخل ضمن إختصاصه من أحكام الحسبة.
وسيقف المطالع لمواد هذا الكتاب على مدى عظم الفقه الإسلامي وسعة أفقه وحجم تفوقه على جميع الأنظمة وقوانين الأحوال الشخصيّة الوضعيّة الغربيّة منها والشرقيّة، وكذلك تفوقه على مبادئ وأحكام الأديان الإلهيّة الأخرى كالمسيحيّة واليهوديّة بطوائفهما ومذاهبهما المختلفة ذات الإختصاص والعلاقة بالموضوع.
