يأتي هذا الإصدار في إطار سعي اتحاد الكتاب بدمشق وعلى رأسه (الدكتور علي عقلة عرسان) للمبادرة في التعريف بالتراث العربي القديم والحديث، من خلال تكريم رجالات الفكر والتعريف بعطائهم. وهذا الكتاب يضم مجموع كلمات ودراسات وأبحاث تصب بالتعريف بالدكتور عبد الله عبد الدائم وذلك بمناسبة تكريمه. يعتبر الدكتور عبد الله عبد الدائم أحد صناع الأسس الفكرية للإنسان الحضاري الفكري في الوطن العربي ويعتبر بالنسبة للعرب والفكر العربي أشهر من أي فيلسوف تربية بين قومه في العالم كله؛ وقد قدم لأمته نتاج علمي غزير، يدور جلَة حول موضوعين هامين هما: -التربية ودورها الأساسي في حياة الأمة وتطورها ورفعتها. –والفكر العربي القومي ودوره الفاعل في بناء الأمة وتوحيدها وتقدمها. –ما يميز الدكتور "الدائم" عن غيره من مفكرين عرب إننا إذا ما قرأناه نتلمس ذلك التفاؤل الإستراتيجي الذي لايغيب أبداً أساسه أيضاً رؤيته القومية- الإنسانية، وإيمانه بعلاقة التأثير المتبادل بين العرب والعالم، بين العروبة والإنسانية.
محتويات الكتاب: مقدمة بقلم المحتفى به الدكتور عبد الله عبد الدائم، يلي ذلك القسم الأول من الكتاب ويشمل الكلمات التي ألقيت في الحفل نذكر منها كلمة الدكتور وليد مشوح وكلمة وزير الثقافة الدكتور محمود السيد وآخرون. ثم القسم الثاني ويشمل عدة محاور تبدأ بنماذج من نتاج المحتفى به 1- في ميدان الفكر القومي، 2- في ميدان الفكر التربوي، 3- في ميدان الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي، 4- ما كتب عنه وعن نتاجه، 5- موجز تاريخ حياة المحتفى به وأهم مؤلفاته وإنجازاته الفكرية والوظائف التي شغلها، ومن بينها أنه شغل منصب وزير إعلام في الجمهورية العربية السورية في العام (1962)و (1964).
