تتصل خواطر مرح البنّاقي السوداء بخيط سري يدفن سريته في روحية العبارة والإحساس الإنثوي الرفيع بكل ما يدور حوله من تناقضات في هذا العالم، رشحت من ذاكرة ملتهبة لا تحدها حدود زمانية ومكانية فها هي في المفتتح النصي الأول لــ "خواطر سوداء" تعبر عن خواطرها بكلمات "اقتطفتُ أشياء سخية وثمينة خواطرَ غامضةً المشاعر من مقتطفاتِ أحاسيسَ سوداء بكماءِ اللون!... خاطرتي جزءٌ مني، يمثّلني".
وهكذا جاءت خواطر الشاعرة البنّاقي تشبهها بعاطفتها العميقة، وأفكارها البناءة، وكينونتها كامرأة / شاعرة قبل كل شيء.
يضم الكتاب (93) خاطرة شعرية نقرأ منها: "قلبي الذي يعشقك أسودُ من الخارج، لكنه من الداخلِ أصفى من الماء!"، "هناك أمورٌ صغيرة سوداءُ ستفسدُ كل فرحةٍ عظيمة"، "يا هادئة الملامح لا تدمعْ عيناكِ، فدموعُك تمحو أحرفَ الفرح".
هذا، وقد ختمت الشاعرة عملها وهي تتوجه للقارئ بالقول: "ختامي مسكٌ غامض كشخصيةٍ نادرة ثمينة: "لا تجعل أحداً يهدم طموحك، تابع طموحك نحو الأفضل".
