في ديوانه الشعري "الصوت.. الشارع" يتحدث فيصل أكرم بكل الأصوات وبكل لغات الأرض، لنقرأ معه كل رغبات وإحتياجات بني البشر، إنه المصب لآنفاس البشر ولأحاسيسهم... لا بل، هو رئة الحرية التي لا يمكن أن تموت أبداً، إنها تكمن في أعماقنا مفتوحة على كل الفضاءات... لا يحتويها سجن... ولا يقدر على لجمها سجان... شاعرنا فيصل أكرم أوحى بهذا المعنى في ديوانه هذا الذي بين أيدينا، عندما نقرأه نسمع صوته، وأول صوت في قصيدته التي عنونها (سيرتك أنك وحيد) يقول فيها: (هكذا الموت الذي تحتاجه/ يمضي إلى كل الذين رأوك فيهم/ ثم يسقط عنك حصتك التي تحتاجها/ لتظل في أسف عليه/ هكذا الموت التي ترمي إليه/ يرمي إلى كل الذين عرفتهم/ بتعز وحدك من يديه). يضم هذا الديوان (الصوت الشارع) ما يزيد عن خمسين قصيدة، تعبر جميعها عن شاعر ملتزم يدرك معنى أن يكون للشاعر موقف ومبدأ من قضايا تؤرق حياتنا، فكان شعره تجسيداً لما يريد أن يقوله إخوانه من الضعفاء والمحرومين، وهنا، لخص شاعرنا مراحل وإنتكاسات وإنكسارات عدة لهذه الروح العربية التي أصابها الشلل، في ديوان واحد عبر فيه عن صوت الشارع.
