يعيد هذا البحث من جديد طرح سؤال الشعرية الذي طرح مراراً من قبل نقاد وأدباء مرموقين على تراثنا النقدي والبلاغي، ومحاولاً الكشف عن خصائص الإبداع الجمالي وشروط جماليته في النظرية الشعرية العربية، انطلاقاً من نظرية البيان، كما بلورها الجاحظ، ومن جاء بعده، حتى عبد القاهر الجرجاني، وانتهاء بـ(نظرية النظم) الجرجانية.
وتأتي أهمية هذا البحث في كونه يربط بين شروط جمالية الإبداع وشروط جمالية التلقي، منطلقاً في هذا الربط من طبيعة الموقف النقدي البياني الذي سعى على الدوام إلى فرض سياق التلقي الجمالي، على الإبداع ليغدو سياقاً له، وسعى من ثم إلى فرض شروط التلقي الجمالي على الإبداع لتغدو شروطاً جمالية له.
لقد رأيت في بحثي هذا الذي يستهدف في الأساس الكشف عن جمالية الخطاب الشعري في التراث النقدي والبلاغي، إن انطلق من العملية البيانية نفسها، بوصفها عملية دلالة على المعنى تنطوي على شروط جمالية في الإنتاج وفي التلقي في آن معاً، وهو أمر من شأنه أنه قد حتم عليّ البدء أولاً بتحديد مفهوم البيان بشكل عام، لألج من مفهوم البيان إثر ذلك إلى صلب العملية البيانية على أني قد سلطت الضوء بشكل خاص، على دور المبين له (المتلقي) في عملية البيان نظراً لدوره الفعال في هذه العملية.
وفي محور خاص في نظرية النظم الشعري عند الجرجاني وضحت ما يميز (عملية الإبانة عن المعنى) في الوعي النقدي البياني قبل الجرجاني عن عملية نظام المعنى عنده بوصفهما طريقتين مختلفتين من طرق تلقي المعنى أو الاستجابة له.
