مظفر إزغو كاتب من مواليد أضنة عام 1933 اكتسب تجربة حياتية مهمة من خلال انخراطه في ميدان العمل وهو طفل، حيث اضطر للذهاب إلى المدرسة صباحاً، والعمل بعد الظهر إما نادلاً أو غسال أطباق في مطعم، أو بائع كازوز في سينما، أو أي عمل بائس آخر.
قال وهو في الخامسة والستين من عمره: إن أحب شيء إليه هو البالونات، فلا يمكن أن تخلو غرفته من بالون، ويفسر هذا بأنه لم يعش طفولته بشكل طبيعي، فمنذ وعى الحياة كان رجلاً يتحمل المسؤوليات في بيت ربه عامل وربته خادمة في بيوت الناس. هذه الحياة الصعبة أعطت أسلوبه الأدبي نكهة خاصة، فهو ساخر يضحك ولكن كتاباته مؤلمة جداً إلى حد إمكانية وصفها بالمأساوية.
بدأ كتابة القصة الساخرة ونشر كتاباته في أهم الدوريات المتخصصة بالأدب الساخر. وبدأ منذ عام 1973 بنشر مسرحياته الكوميدية أيضاً.
إنتاجه القصصي غزير جداً فقد أصدر أكثر من خمس وعشرين مجموعة قصصية. وفي ميدان الكتابة للأطفال أيضاً هو كاتب متميز، وقد كتب لهم الكثير من القصص والروايات.
حصل على عدد من الجوائز الأدبية في تركيا والعالم، ويعتبر اليوم الكاتب الساخر الأهم في تركيا.
