ليس كتاب الفرْق أوّلَ عهد هيغل بالتفكير الفلسفيّ، ولا بيانَ انتصار فلسفيٍّ لمثاليّة شلّنغ ضدّ مثاليّة فيشته، وإنّما هو أوّلُ حصيدٍ لصيرورة هيغل نفسه إلى الفلسفة وبدايةُ استحالة الفلسفة نفسِها، وهذا إشكال قائم برأسه سيعمل هيغل على ضبطه ومعالجته على مرّ طور يينّا وإلى حين نشر فنومينولوجيا الرّوح في 1807.
وإنّ الهدف من تقديمه اليوم، منقولاً إلى العربية، أن تكون فيه خيرُ شهادةٍ على ما زاوله هيغل الأوّل من تفحّص نقديّ ومناظرة تأمّليّة لزمان الفلسفة الذي عاصره، عسى أن نتوصّل نحن إلى ما به نناظر فلسفيّاً زمانَنا ونتفهّم تاريخيّاً ما يتفعّل فيه من تصايير مجنونةٍ ومن منقَلَبات عنيفةٍ.
