ونتيجة للغزو الذي شنه تنظيم داعش في عام 2014، فستستمر القوى الخارجية على الأرجح بالتدخل في السياسة الداخلية العراقية، وتتدخل إيران والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في الشأن العراقي، وسيستمران على الأرجح في التأثير بالشأن العراقي للحيلولة دون إعادة ظهور تنظيم داعش.
وتحاول تركيا ودول الخليج أيضاً التأثير في السياسة العراقية بغية الإفادة من ذلك في دعم أهدافهم السياسية الخارجية.
