إن كتاب "الترجمة العلمية والصحفية والأدبية" هو محاولة أخرى على سبيل تيسير الأدوات العلمية والفنية القويمة لمترجمي الغد الذين نريد أن نتجاوز بهم واقع الترجمة الحالي إلى مستقبل أرحب وأغنى.
وهذا الكتاب خاص بالترجمة إلى الإنكليزية، اعتمدنا فيه تبادل الرأي والإجتهاد والمناقشة في الترجمة وهي الوسائط التي تدفعنا نحو ترجمة سليمة وجميلة، وواجهتنا صعوبات إضافية كان لا بد من قهرها وتذليلها بالسبل الصحيحة ومنها: أولاً: النظر الدائم في طبيعة تركيب اللغة الإنكليزية ومنطقها عند نقل النص العربي إليها، إذ لا يخفى أن لكل لغة منهما تراكيبها ومنطقها المتفردين.
وثانياً: البحث عن المفردة أو المصطلح أو العبارة الإنكليزية الأكثر دقة وعدم الإكتفاء أو التمسك بالمفردة أو المصطلح أو العبارة التي يعرفها الطالب دون غيرها، ثالثاً: الموازنة عند الترجمة بين المفاهيم والعادات والتقاليد العربية وسبل حياة أبنائها وطرائق تفكيرهم وبين مثيلاتها الإنكليزية إذا أردنا للنص الإنكليزي المترجم عن العربية أن يكون مفهوماً وحياً ومؤثراً.
