ولد مؤلف الرواية سمير بن خرف الله في الجزائر عام 1971، ونشأ في العاصمة الجزائرية محباً للأدب منذ صغره، وكان متعلقاً بالشعر والنثر. ودرس بجامعة الجزائر قبل أن يشد الرحال ويغادر بلاده في مطلع التسعينيات يستقر به المقام -بعد حل وارتحال- في العاصمة البريطانية لندن.
تمثل الرواية الصراع الأزلي بين الخير والشر، وهي تبحث في محارات اللغة والتراث العربي دون كلل أو ملل، كما تدعو هذه الرواية وتشجع قارئيها على تأمل فقرات من تراث وكنوز اللغة العربية الجميلة.
