في هذا الكتاب "القائد وإدارة الصراع" تتبع منهجي لإدارة الصراع كعملية تتصل بمجريات عمليتي صنع القرار واتخاذه. وقد ناقش المؤلف المفاهيم المتصلة والقريبة من إدارة الصراع مثل النزاع والأزمة... الخ، ومن ثم سعى إلى إجراء مقارنة في أصول نظرية القيادة لدى قائدين لهما الأثر الكبير في حياة الأمة العربية، مستخرجاً السياسات المتصلة بإدارة الصراع الاجتماعي والسياسي والإعلامي. وبعد ذلك أقام مقارنة لإدارة الصراع المسلح في تجربتين عربيتين في هذا المجال: الصراع المسلح الذي دام ثماني سنوات مع إيران مقابل إدارة الصراع المسلح ضد الكيان الصهيوني في حرب عام 1967.
وليحيط المؤلف بجميع جوانب الموضوع قسّم دراسته على أربعة أبواب: تحدث في الأول منها عن مفهوم القيادة في الفكر السياسي: العربي الإسلامي، الأوروبي القديم والمعاصر، كما وتحدث فيه أيضاً عن دور القائد في إدارة الصراع من الناحية النظرية، أما في الباب الثاني فأجرى دراسة تحدث فيها عن العوامل المؤثرة في ظهور جمال عبد الناصر كقائد (كاريزما)، كما وتحدث في هذا الباب عن فكر عبد الناصر السياسي، وفكر عبد الناصر في إدارة الصراع، أما الباب الثالث فخصصه لدراسة العوامل الذاتية والموضوعية التي أسهمت في ظهور صدام حسين قائداً سياسياً (كاريزما)، وكذلك تناول موضوع تطور الوعي القومي لدى صدام حسين، وموضوع إدارة الصراع في فكره. أما في الباب الرابع والأخير فجمع دراسة مقارنة في إدارة الصراع الخارجي (الإقليمي والدولي) في فكر كل من القائد جمال عبد الناصر والقائد صدام حسين.
