قصد هذا الكتاب دراسة ملامح الإيديولجيا وتجلّياتها، في الرواية تحديداً، لكونها أكثر الفنون الأدبيّة إلتصاقاً بالحياة وإستجابة للواقع المعيش؛ إذ تلتبس بقضاياه وإشكالاته، وتنفتح على قيم شتى تكوّن مادّتها، إلاّ أنّ حضورها إلى عالم الرواية يقتضي إعادة بنائها في السرد التخييليّ عن طريقة مجموعة من الأساليب والتقنيّات الفنيّة.
وقد اعتنيتُ، بشكل خاصّ، بدراسة الرواية في البحرين، في علاقتها بالإيديولوجيا، لأسباب عديدة أبرزها، من جهةً أولى، إستجلاء أهمّ المضامين والقيم الإيديولوجيّة الّتي تشغل الروائيّين البحرينيّين، والنظر في كيفيّات تشكّلها في رواياتهم، وتأمّل ملامح تمايزها بما يشفّ عن مقاصدهم الفكريّة والجماليّة، والوقوف، من جهة ثانية، على الأنماط الروائيّة الّتي نزع أولئك الروائيّون إلى معالجة رؤاهم الإبداعيّة طيّها، حتّى يتسنّى تقويم الجهود الروائيّة الّتي يبذلونها ضمن مسار الجهود العربيّة.
