خضعت قواعد اللغة العربية للكثير من الدراسات والبحوث، سواء أكان ذلك في محتوى المادة أم في طرائق تدريسها. وقد جاءت هذه الدراسة منطلقة من حاجة ملحة، تلك هي ضرورة العمل على تيسير هذه القواعد، وجعلها أكثر سهولة.
وهذا الكتاب محاولة أخرى في هذا الميدان. فقد عمد فيه مؤلفاه إلى البحث عن أساليب واتجاهات فيها شيء من الجدة والحداثة، يمكن رجوع المهتمين بقواعد اللغة العربية، من معلمين وطلبة إليها.
وسوف يجد القارئ في هذا الكتاب سبعة عشر فصلاً، تناولت الفصول الخمسة الأولى منها مقدمة في اللغة العربية، والحديث عن قواعد هذه اللغة، ونظرة في التدريس وطرائقه، والحديث عن طرائق تدريس قواعد اللغة العربية. أما الفصول (السادس والسابع والثامن) فقد تناولت طرائق تدريس قديمة تصلح لتدريس قواعد اللغة العربية، وهي الطريقة الاستقرائية والطريقة القياسية، وأسلوب النصوص المتكاملة المعدل عن الطريقة الاستقرائية.
وتناولت الفصول (التاسع، والعاشر، والحادي عشر، والثاني عشر، والثالث عشر، والرابع عشر، والخامس عشر، والسادس عشر) أساليب واتجاهات حديثة في تدريس القواعد، وهي: أسلوب تحليل الجملة، والأسلوب التكاملي، وأسلوب الدور التمثيلي، وأسلوب توظيف المطالعة، وأسلوب الرسوم البيانية، وأسلوب تجزئة القاعدة النحوية، وأسلوب المواقف التعليمية.
لقد حرص المؤلفان على إعطاء دروس أنموذجية في استخدام هذه الأساليب في تدريس موضوعات نحوية مختارة. وأكثراً من هذه الدروس في بعض الأساليب، لأنها تستدعي ذلك. أما الفصل السابع عشر فقد خصصه المؤلفان لعرض نماذج من الاختبارات في قواعد اللغة العربية، ونماذج من الإجابة عنها.
