يسعى هذا الكتاب للم شتات شعر "محمد بن حازم الباهلي" المتناثر بين طبعة بغداد وطبعة دمشق ومجلة مجمع اللغة العربية الأردني ومجلة عالم الكتب السعودية، وهذا فقد تجمع فيه شعر لم يرد في الطبعتين الوحيدتين للديوان ولا من المستدركين على هذه الطبعات، وأردف الديوان بدراسة متكاملة عن الشاعر تحدث فيها عن نسبه، وقبيلته، وحياته، ومكوناته النفسية، وموضوعاته الشعرية، والبنية الفنية لشعره، وقام بتقويم ديوانه، من ثمّ قام بتبويب شعره وتخريجه وفق منهجية علمية دقيقة، إذ قام بكتابة ثلاثة أبيات من المقطوعة في كل ورقة، وخرج الأبيات بعد الرجوع الى المصادر المتوفرة، ثم شرح معاني الكلمات الصعبة معتمداً على لسان العرب، وأدرج الى جانب كل كلمة شرحها ورقم الصفحة وفي أي باب موجودة. وأخيراً أثبت مجموعة من الفهارس الفنية وهي فهرس المصادر والمراجع، وفهرس القوافي، وفهرس الاعلام وفهرس المحتويات.
