هذا بحث تحدث عن مفهوم الدين باعتباره ميداناً فسيحاً يسير فيه كل أحد على قدر وسعة، فمنهم السابق ومنهم المجلي، منهم من يتأسى بأولي العزم فيعمل بعمل أهل الجنة لا يبغي غير رضاء الله، ومنهم من يؤثر الدعة والراحة والسكون فيقتصر على الفرائض، وربما أضاف إليه قليلاً من النوافل، وقد يشوب عمله الرياء فإن لم يحبطه كاد.
في هذا البحث تم ذكر كيف أن الصحابة وغيرهم كانوا يقلدون رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ما استطاعوا حتى أن بعضهم كان يقلّده في المباحات ليدرب نفسه على التخلق بأخلاقه، وهي وإن عزت إلا أن الأعمال بالنيات، ولكل امرئ ما نوى.
وفي هذا الإطار ذكر البحث ا، الصوفية حينما سلكوا هذا المنحى الخلقي كان يدفعهم إليه أمران: أولهما: النزعة الإنسانية العامة للعبادة باعتبار أن الدين هو فطرة الله التي فطر الناس عليها. ثانيهما: التأسي برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عملاً بقوله تعالى: "لقد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة".
هذا وحتى يتم إجلاء الصورة كاملة لهذا الموضوع فقد تم ذكر شيء عن مفهوم الزهد وصوره، والتصوف ومراحله.. وختم البحث بالحديث عن بدايات المجاهدة وشروط المريد.
