انكفئ على الكتاب (العالم ليس عقلاً) فأعيد قراءة العديد من فقراته الصعبة التي لا يمكن فهمها. أخطط بالقلم الرصاص على الأفكار التي تصدمني كالحجارة على رأسي، فأتلذذ بكدماتها أغوص في ذاتي، ولا يلازمني إلا (كركرة) الشيشة إلى أين تسير حياتى من هذا السطح الصغير عل علي أن أفكر طويلاً حتى يصيبني الخبال.
الصدمات التي تلقيتها سببها أنا، وأنا أرغب بعد كل تلك الصدمات أن أبقى في منتصف الطريق، أبذر الحبوب وأغرس الأشجار... فربما جاء الآخرون من بعدي وحصدوها، وإذا ما قدر لي أن أقف هنا... فإن تلك الأشجار ستصبح أحلاماً بالنسبة لي أخاف من اغتيالها هكذا بكل بساطة .. هنا تكمن مأساتي، الرغبة في المسير والنزوع للوقوف... فتكبر المأساة بتصارع الضادان في داخلي.
تطرح رواية (الفوارس) للروائي السعودي حسن الشيخ قضية بالغة الحساسة، يمكننا وصفها بإشكالية العصر إنها (الاستلاب الروحي) لشخصيات مأزومة تحاول الانعتاق من عوالمها الاحسائية المحشورة فيها إلا أن الشيخ ومنذ مجموعته القصصية الأولى يحاول هو الآخر الانحسار في عوامل الأحساء، فيصبغ جملته الروائية وصوته التعبيري، بفعل عكسي يلتصق بالأحساء، فيحدث ذلك الصراع الإنساني الأبدي بينه وبين شخوصه السردية.
