ينفرد مير بصري عن كل كتاب التراجم العرب بنقاء العبار ورشاقة الأسلوب، وتوخى الإيجاز غير المخل. ولا أبالغ إذا قلت إنه يمتلك كل المواصفات التي يحملها العلماء، وهي الحيدة والتواضع والموضوعية، وهو يحيط بتاريخ الأمة العربية إحاطة تامة، وقد رزق ذاكرة قوية، لا ينسى ما يقيد ولا ما لا يقيد. وأتاحت له إجادته اللغات الفرنسية والإنجليزية وغيرها الإطلاع على الآداب والثقافة الغربية فأفاد منها في كتبه وسيره.
