هذه صفحات وتراجم كتبها "مري بصري" في أوقات مختلفة ورى جمعها في هذا الكتاب تحت عنوان "أعلام التركمان والأدب التركي في العراق الحديث". يقدم الكتاب معلومات شتى عن التركمان، هذا الجزء المهم من الشعب العراقي الكثير الجماعات والفئات، الذي لعب أبناؤه دوراً بارزاً وخطيراً في تاريخ العراق قبل الفتح التركي وبعد، ثم بعد استقلال البلاد ونشوء حياتها البرلمانية. يتعلق القسم الأول من الكتاب بأعلام التركمان المخضرمين من السياسيين والعسكريين الذين نقلوا الخبرة والتجربة التي حصلوا عليها من خلال ممارستهم العملية في الوظائف المختلفة في الدولة العثمانية إلى العراق... وكذلك الأدباء والعلماء وشعراء التركمان الذين نبغوا في تلك الميادين وساهموا بنتاجاتهم الفكرية والأدبية والشعرية في بناء صرح الحضارة العراقية. أما القسم الثاني في الكتاب فيتحدث عن الأدب التركي في العراق الذي يمكن اعتباره فرعاً صغيراً من شجرة الأدب التركي الضخمة.
ولم يغفل الكتاب ذكر نوادر من شعراء الأتراك والعراقيين وأدبائهم أمثال الزهاوي والرصافي وغيرهما، وكذلك نوادر تاريخية من القصص التاريخية في عهد الولاة العثمانيين، ومجريات الأمور في الحياة اليومية في بغداد، وفي ميادين الأدب والشعر والإدارة تتخللها إشارات إلى إنجازات بعض المصلحين من الولاة والعراقيين الذين تولوا مسؤولية إدارة البلاد في الحقبة الزمنية المتأخرة من الحكم العثماني.
هذا الكتاب يتناول الكاتب في قسمه الأول تاريخ التركمان وعلاقتهم بالعراق، وأعلامهم المخضرمين على الصعيدين السياسي والعسكري، الذي نقلوا الخبرة والتجربة التي حصلوا عليها من خلال ممارستهم العملية في الدولة العثمانية.
أما في القسم الثاني من الكتاب فيتطرق المؤلف إلى أعلام التركمان وآثار الأدب التركي في بناء صرح الثقافة العراقية، مشيراً إلى إنجازاتهم في ميادين الأدب والشعر والإدارة بشكل عام.
