تكتب فضيلة سليم قصة فتاة ضريرة اسمها أميرة وسفينة اسمها "النّغم السرّي"، ولكن أميرة الضريرة تملك القدرة على أن ترى بوضوح رغم فقدان البصر في حين أن الغالبية العظمى من البشر تمشي في الحياة وتنظر بطريقة غائمة ولا ترى شيئاً.
ولكن عندما نجلس إزاء الطبيعة مع غياب القدرة على الرؤية فإن ذلك يمنعنا من رؤية الإنسجام الهائل والمدهش الموجود بين الأزهار والحشرات والأشجار وإستمرار الطفرة التي تدور من حولنا بما فيه نحن أيضاً بإعتبارنا جزءاً من هذا الكل.
إذا استطعنا أن نرى حقاً فعندما نرى سحر الطبيعة الذي يمنحنا نظرة الأطفال ودهشتهم، في تلك اللحظة سنصغي إلى "النغم السرّي" الذي يصدح في كل الأرجاء ويخلق الإنسجام والتوازن والنظام، وبإعتباره جزءاً من النظام الكوني... إنه سرّ خلق الموسيقى، ومعه يتهادى زورق حياتنا، ويجري في بحر مصيرنا وفي الإتجاه الصحيح.
إذن، فلنتعلّم من الفتاة الضريرة وكما رأتها فضيلة سليم، في كتابها، فلنتعلّم كيف نرى وكيف نسمع الموسيقى الغامضة للخلق، ولنفعّل كل ذلك في حياتنا.
