"أبو القاسم عبد الكريم بن هوازن القشيري" شخصية صوفية فذّة برزت في تاريخ التصوف الإسلامي بعد أن تفاقم الخلاف بين المتصوفة والفقهاء قبل ظهور الغزالي.
وإنه لغريب حقاً أن تلف القشيري طوايا النسيان، ووجه الغرابة يأتي من أنه لم يحظ بإهتمام دراسي التصوف الإسلامي مثل ما حظي الغزالي أو فريد الدين العطار أو الحلاج أو حتى نجم الدين الكبري أو عبد الوهاب الشعراني.
وقد نبّه المستشرقون وخاصة "البروفيسور آبري" إلى أهمية شخصية "القشيري" في الدراسات الصوفية، فاعتبر محاولته في التوفيق بين التصوف الذي فقد تأثيره الزهدي على الناس وبين المدارس الفقهية التي رأت فيه خروجاً على نظام الشريعة، إستمراراً لمحاولات الكلاباذي والسراج وأبي طالب المكي والسلمي والتي انتهت بالنجاح الهائل الذي حققه الغزالي، حيث أحرز التصوف مكانة ثابتة وأكيدة في الإسلام، وذلك بتأثير كتاباته التي تركزت على ربط التصوف بالقرآن والسنة.
وفي هذا الكتاب أربعة مخطوطات نادرة في التصوف لـ"أبي القاسم القشيري" وهي: "كتاب مختصر في التوبة" و"كتاب عبارات الصوفية ومعانيها" و"كتاب منثور الخطاب في مشهور الأبواب" و"القصيدة الصوفية"...
