عندما استيقظت للمرة الأخيرة.. للمرة الواحدة بعد المائة.. كان الصباح قد جاء حاملاً لون الدخان ورائحة الاحتراق، الذي روع أحشاء القرية بالأمس.. وطوال الليل تحولت تلك الأفراح إلى مآتم. كان الضباب قد زحف من قريتنا إلى موقع المستشفى حيث أرقد هناك. لمحت وأنا أترقب من خلال النافذة حيناً آخر. ونظرت إلى طاولة وضعت إلى جانب السرير فتشاءمت خشية سماع خبر جديد يعكر صباحي من شقوق النافذة رأيت ضباباً مثقلاً بحمرة مشرقية.. قلت في نفسي. أتكون هذه الحمرة التي غلفت الجور آهات ودموعاً ودماءً سالت في تلك الليلة وما زالت عالقة معلنة عن حزنها أتكون الطبيعة قد شاركت أبناء قريتي حزنها وألمها أم.. تطلعت مرة أخرى إلى الباب. انفتح الباب، رأيتها تدخل، وحدها، تدخل والسؤال يطفو فوق صفحة وجهها الصافي المغلف بالحزن.. وأظنها ترددت قبل أن تطرح السؤال الذي ظل حبيس في أعماقها.. كيف حدث ذلك ولماذا..؟؟!
