هذه المشيخة هي نسخة وحيدة تقع في 13 ورقة. وهي نسخة ناقصة سقطت منها ورقتان فقدنا بهما تتمة مرويات الشيخ الأول وتاريخ وفاته والشيخ الثاني بكامله وبداية الشيخ الثالث وهناك نقص في مرويات الشيخ التاسع ويقدر هذا النقص بورقة واحدة. والمشيخة مكتوبة بخط ابن حجر العسقلاني وخطه فارسي متميز يغلب عليه الدقة. ومن حسن الحظ أن أربعة من كبار العلماء اشتركوا في إخراج هذه المشيخة إلى الوجود فالتأليف لأبي بكر بن أحمد بن عبد الدائم وتخريج أحاديثه للبرزالي وتخريج أحاديث العوالي للحافظ العلائي وناسخه هو الإمام ابن حجر.
