من فروع شجرة الفكر وعلم الطب، وهو العلم الأساس الذي يساعده في الوصول إلى غاياته وأهدافه، التي لا تقف عند حدّ، ولا تصل إلى نهاية، فمن هنا جاء تراث هذه الأمّة، الذي وصل إلينا، من بدايات بنائه وأسسه إلى أنَّ استوى على سوقه، وحفظت درره في أنحاء العالم، سواء في ذلك في المراكز العلميّة، أو المكتبات العامّة، أو الخاصّة.
ومَثَل علم الطب مثل غيره من العلوم، تنوعت كتبه المخطوطة ورسائله، ما بين عامّ يحمل في طيّاته المبادئ الأساسية للأمراض والعلل، أسبابها وعلاماتها، وطرق علاجها وأدويتها، وخاصّ يتضمن دراسة شاملة لكلّ ما يتعلّق بنوعٍ واحد منها، وتفصيلاً يحيط بكلّ جزئيّاتها، لا يترك شاردة ولا واردة إلاّ عرض كلَّ مفرداتها.
ومن هذه الكتب المخطوطة (الرسالة الأمينية في الفصد) تصنيف أمين الدولة، أبي الحسن هبة الله بن صاعد بن إبراهيم، ابن التلميذ، المتوفّى سنة 560هـ.
ومن المعلوم أن تعاني صناعة الفصد، بصفتها دواء لأمراض عديدة، كانت المرضى تلجأ إليه قبل ميلاد السيد المسيح إلى منتصف القرن العشرين، حيث نجد عند مطالعة الكتب التي تؤرّخ للطب عناوين كتب طيبّة كثيرة، تتحد عن عمليتي الفصد والحجامة، فقد وجدنا عنوان كتاب لجالينوس، هو كتاب الفصد، كما وجدنا الأطباء العرب يشيرون في ذلك إلى ما قاله جالينوس بهذا الشأن، كما نسب لأبقراط قوله: "الجسد يعالج جملة من خمسة اضرب، ما في الرأس بالغرغرة، وما في المدة بالقيء، وما في البدن بإسهال البطن، وما بين الجلدين بالعرق، وما في العمق وداخل العروق بإرسال الدم"، والمقصود بعبارة "بإرسال الدم" إخراجه بطريقي الفصد والحجامة.
لذلك نرى أن تقديم هذه الرسالة بعد إحيائها ونشرها مُحققة من الأهمية بمكان.
