"موسوعة مصطلحات علم الكلام الإسلامي هي واحدة في سلسلة موسوعات المصطلحات العربية والإسلامية التي تتناول معظم مجالات الفكر العربي الإسلامي من منطق وأصول فقه وفلسفة وعلوم اجتماعية وسياسة وعلوم، وتناول موسوعة علم الكلام هذه سيراً عاماً شاملاً لأهم المصطلحات التي انبنى عليها علم الكالم في مختلف مراحل تطوره، منذ بداية ظهوره في نهاية صدر الإسلام، مروراً باستوائه علماً قائماً بحد ذاته له أصوله المنهجية ومضمونه المعدني، مع فرقتي المعتزلة والأشعرية، ابتداء من حسن البصري وانتهاءً بابن خلدون والقاسم بن محمد علي، مروراً بالعلاّف والجويني والباقلاتي والقاضي عبد الحجار وغيرهم ممن وردت أسماؤهم في ثبت الصادر.
وكانت منهجية تحقيق الموسوعة كالتالي: 1- تم اختيار الموضوعات الرئيسية الجلية والتي تعبر عن مضمون المصطلح وخلفيته المنهجية،2- تم حذف جميع الجمل التمهيدية والاعتراضية أو الاستطرادية، 3- أضيفت إلى التعريفات بعض الألفاظ لاستكمال المعنى أو للتوضيح، 4- استوفي في المصطلح الواحد معظم تفريعاته لا سيما تلك المتداخلة معه ضمن حقل دلالي واحد،5 - اعتمد اللفظ المفرد في حل المصطلحات ووضع في صيغة النكرة مع عدم إهمال صيغة المنشة والجمع نظراً لورودها بأبعادها في بعض الأماكن، وقد تم ترتيب المصطلحات بحسب اللفظ دون العودة إلى الجزر الذي وضع له ثبتاً في الفهارس، مع إرفاق كل جملة بإشارة إلى اسم الفيلسوف والكتاب مرمزين.
