ولد عام 1943 في حي الياسمينة - القصبة - نابلس .
حاصل على مؤهل عالٍ في الإدارة العامة من جامعة بيروت العربية 1966.
عمل رئيساً لتحرير ( الفجر الثقافي ) ثم رئيساً لتحرير جريدة ( الفجر) المقدسية .
هو واحد من الأعضاء المؤسسين لاتحاد الكتاب الفلسطينيين في الأرض المحتلة، وكاتب غزير أصدر ما يزيد عن عشرين كتابا.

ولا بد لي من تسجيل ملاحظاتي على مجمل هذه الروايات والقصص وابرز هذه الملاحظات يكمن في صعود الضحية في الوعي الروائي والقصص الحديث، إلى ذروة مكابدات السرد. ولم يكن هذا الصعود سهلاً فقد جاء متدرجاً من جيل إلى جيل .. تنهار الأسطورة بعد أن تثقل بالشوائب.
وثمة في لحظة انهيار بطولة الإيجابي والسلبي معا، تصعد الضحية إلى المشهد، دون بطولة، هي بالتالي ، رواية الضحية بلا إيجابي ، وبلا بطل سلبي. الضحية في هذا الصعود نص لوعي سردي جديد. كانت الثقافة القديمة قد خلت من السلبي لمصلحة تراكمها الرومانسي حول الإيجابي، حتى اختنقت وانطفأت تحت ثقل هذا التراكم، في مواجهة العصر المتغير. وطالما أن أحد لم يجرؤ على المساءلة المبكرة في شأنها قبل الانطفاء، فإن السؤال الملح، الآن هو: أين يكمن الإيجابي والسلبي في السرد الجديد؟ الرد واضح بقدر وضوح الضحية في هذا السرد، فالإيجابي هو صعود الضحية. والسلبي هو عدم الاعتراف بهذا الصعود، أو التستر عليه.
