القصص تعطي انطباعاً عن صورة الإسلام المشوشة في أفكار الغربيين فضلاً عن صورة المسلمين المتهمين دوماً بالتخلف والهمجية والسخف والوثنية، وأنهم صالو الجحيم بحاجة إلى إنقاذ ومخلص. كما تعطي فكرة عن تقصيرهم في الدعوة الصحيحة رغم وجود بعض أشخاص كان لهم أثرهم في نشر الإسلام.
