أما المهام الرئيسية لهذه الجمعية المنظمة، فهو الفساد في العالم بأسره، وأن مواد الفساد في عرفهم وقانونهم هي: خطف، إغتيال، إبتزاز، سرقة، تزوير، تهريب، دعارة، تجارة مخدرات، تعاون خاص مع منظمات الإرهاب في العالم، إلخ... سلطات لا حدود لها، وجرائم منظمة تعتبر جزءاً من تاريخ منظمة عصابة "المافيا" في طول العالم وعرضه...
وبوجود منظمة عصابة "المافيا" مع التقدم العلمي والتقني، وتعقيدات الحياة المدنية الحديثة بشكل عام، يبدو لنا على الفور أن "المافيا" قد قضت في قاموسها على لفظ كلمة "الضمير"، هذه الكلمة التي صاغها الإنسان عبر الآلاف من السنين للدلالة على تميزه النوعي عن سائر المخلوقات.
وعلى هذا الأساس، فإن الأحداث اليومية قد تبدو للوهلة الأولى صدمة مؤثرة عنيفة تهز الكيان البشري بشدة، وتثير الغضب والإستياء، إلا أنها أعمق بالمشاهدة من الوصف، فعند تأملها يُستشف على الفور أن هناك آلافاً من الأحداث هي أشد فظاعة ووحشية، حدثت وما زالت تحدث بإستمرار حتى يومنا هذا، ودون أن يتوقف الإنسان عندها كثيراً، بل باتت وكأنها من مألوفات الحياة العصرية الحديثة في زمان بات فيه الإنسان أرخص ما في الوجود...
ولعل هذا يدفع بالتساؤل من جديد حول مفهوم الضمير الإنساني المفقود عند أولئك الشراذم الممقوتين والمنبوذين من المجتمع الإنساني النظيف، ويجيب على ضخامة هذا السؤال فصول وأحداث ضمن دفتي هذا الكتاب.
